Engaging fresh eyes through refreshing animation

Client: Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP)
Work: Animated Video Production

When there’s a looming global conference ahead and an animation is needed to tell a compelling story, the Inky Thinking animation team are poised to make it a reality.

Bringing fresh perspectives into an organisation was the purpose of this project, each member of the team were able to bring fresh eyes and specialist skills to the animation process.

From my first inquiry, the team were incredibly responsive and efficient. They created a great animation video within a very short time frame and didn't miss an interim deadline along the way! The communication across the board was excellent and I'm really looking forward to working together with Inky Thinking more in the future.

In depth

What our client needed:

Beth was seeking an urgent turnaround on the creation of an animated video which was to be shared at a conference a mere few weeks away. The animation would be used to encourage Early Career Researchers (ECRs) to provide a unique insight into climate science, through a new working group called ‘Fresh Eyes on CMIP’.

How we worked with the client:

Esther, our scriptwriter, started writing the story knowing that Jen, our illustrator, was poised to start developing a draft storyboard for Beth and team to approve. Esther quickly developed a compelling script to underpin the animation and handed over to Jen who created draft storyboards, bringing the script to life. Daisy, our animator wasn’t far behind, keeping up to date with Jen’s work and ready to be handed the baton from Jen to bring the animation together.

The result:

An engaging and compelling animation that has been used by Beth and the CMIP team at their ECR conference and on social media channels including YouTube.
